WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH PEOPLE!?!?

Alright this is something I've gotta get off my chest. E3 is starting to fizzle down and i've been keeping up with all the news, cruising the forums and they've announced some great great stuff that I think is really going to expand gaming plus they showed some awesome games. So here's what's really bothering me; why the fuck are are people against things that will ultimately benefit their passion/hobby/whatever!? Where am I getting this frustration from? The unexplainable hate for 3D.

3D, is one of the biggest victims of this phenomena, I see it all the time on forums and even some news sites (Gizmodo) have sounded off on how apparently it's a waste of time. What the hell!? Okay look, Avatar was THE HIGHEST GROSSING MOVIE OF ALL FREAKING TIME! and I guarantee it wasn't Jame's Cameron's ground breaking storytelling, no, it was 3D! Yeah it's expensive right now, a couple grand is a helluva lot to plop down on a new tv (not to mention the glasses) especially if you just bought a new tv a couple years ago. But guess what, they're not going to be expensive forever and if the industry starts backing it now then when we can afford it there will be a ton of awesome content ready and waiting. So why the fuck are people against it? Gaming is the best application for 3D, the increased level of immersion is unlike anything else, and when used in conjunction with high fidelity motion control like the Playstation Move offers it's fantastic. It brings you that much closer to the game, and as someone who sees video games as art anything that gets the player closer to the creation is an ultimate win.

I feel sorry for the innovative minds out there, because innovation is something people fear until the are able to taste the fruits of it's labor first hand. Innovation, in almost every instance, is shunned until people are able to realize it's benefits. So thank you to all of the innovators out there that continue to forge new technology that allow us to enjoy these groundbreaking experiences, despite the ill-reasoned hate.
